Universal Precautions suggest that all human blood and bodily fluids are considered infectious and need to be handled accordingly. Bodily fluids include saliva, which has always been considered a potentially infectious material in medical infection control. Universal Precautions include use of proper protection gear such as:

Apply OSHA Standards and Applications
