What data do we collect?

This website is intended for massage therapists seeking continuing education. It is not intended for individuals under the age of 18.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information.

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

– “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Basics & Beyond with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online or place an order for any of our products or services
  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies

How will we use your data?

We use the Lead Information that we collect generally to provide pricing estimates and information pertinent to purchase consideration. Additionally, we use this Lead Information to:

Communicate with you;

Screen our submissions for potential risk or fraud; and

When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Device information might also be used for marketing retargeting, a practice in which advertisements may appear on other websites in which we have an advertising arrangement.

How do we store your data?

Basics & Beyond stores your data on our secure cloud server equipped with full data encryption and web application firewall.

Basics & Beyond will keep your contact data for as long as it is warranted to fulfil our commitments to you and to adhere to legal or regulatory requirements.

If you are a customer, partner, or someone else with whom we interact, we keep the personal information as a minimum for the duration of our relationship.

Certain personal information may be kept for longer, for example, to ensure that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges; or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your relationship with us.
